SMGI Pre-Employment Background Services The first step in mitigating risk is to avoid it in the first place. Corporations today have realized the importance of discovering and analyzing the past experience of their prospectus employees. SMGI recognizes this need and, using the latest technology, offers pre-employment background services to out clients.
Recommended basic package: $35.00
This package consists of a Social Security trace to identify any counties a subject may have resided nationwide for the past 7 years (FCRA compliant), a nationwide Sex Offender search as well as a Criminal hand check of one particular county. Criminal hand checks are crucial to avoid liability; internet based checks are not reliable for this search. We would recommend that each county a subject has lived in for the past seven years be searched; this would constitute a thorough Due Diligence on the part of the Client and limit liability to the Client. County Criminal hand check $25.00 This is a hand check for Criminal records of an individual County that a Candidate has resided in; all counties resided in for the prior 7 years should be checked. County Civil hand check $25.00 This is a name check only and is not verified by date of birth; this is not recommended unless the name is VERY unique. Credit Report $20.00 Signed release required Drivers License check $25.00 This is for each state and includes the state required fee. Federal Criminal $25.00 This search checks for criminal convictions in a particular Federal jurisdiction Federal Civil $25.00 per jurisdiction. Federal Bankruptcy 25.00 Per jurisdiction Social Security Trace $5.00 This search will identify reported residences lived in for the past 7 years Credential Verification $35.00 We will attempt to verify a degree completion for the highest level of Education reported by the candidate. Reference contact $20.00 We will complete an actual call to a listed reference with a scripted Questionnaire; this rate is per reference. Previous employment verification $20.00 We will complete an actual call to a listed employer with a scripted Questionnaire; this fee is per employer. Multi-state Violent/Sex Offender $5.00 This is a nationwide search of violent/sex offender data bases. Global Terrorist Watch list $10.00 Searches multiple Terrorist watch lists globally; to include but not Limited to Homeland Security and Scotland Yard. U.S Terrorist Watch $5.00 This search is of the FBI terrorist watch list for the US only. Wanted persons $5.00 FBI search for wanted persons in the US.

Note: We will only receive a response to the Terrorist watch list and Wanted persons searches, if there is a possible connection to the candidate; this will be a phone inquiry to SMGI. For all hand searches, we send a representative to the actual county court to search for records that may be related to your candidate. If a record is located, there would be additional fees to order and obtain copies from the court. These fees can vary depending on file size and specific court fees.
